“I am so grateful to have found Shawn and Greg. They are true gems. After falling down the stairs in November of 2016 I was struggling with pain and simply dealing with it until attending a free sciatic treatment seminar where aI met Shawn and Greg. Shawn chose me as his “demo” person after learning about the recent fall and discovered my pelvis was off by at least an inch. One marvelous manipulation later in front of the group and I felt immediate relief. After months of working with them I was able to finally do all of my advanced Pilates exercises again. I have worked with 2 other PT’s in my past and am sold for life with Shawn & Greg. They don’t approach their work in a cookie-cutter, one size fits all model and really take time to get to know you not only as a patient, but as an individual. Thank you so much for being awesome!”

“I met Greg and Shawn at a workshop for back pain resulting from a sciatica problem. Soon afterwards I was involved in an automobile accident that aggravated my lower back pain and made it worse. From the sciatic pain, I couldn’t stand or walk for long periods of time. I had to sit down after standing or walking for just five minutes. My lower back was in pain and I found myself walking with the slight stoop– bending at the waist. Since working with both Shawn and Greg, I have become pretty much pain-free in my lower back and although my sciatica is still problematic at times, it isn’t nearly the problem it had been.

From doing the exercise workouts shown to me by Shawn and Greg I feel that, with consistency, I might never have to go through this again. I just need to remember good posture and regular exercise, I can remain pain-free. Great job Greg and Shawn. Thank both of you so much.”

“I was having pain in my hamstring when driving. Also pain in my sacrum area from a prior fall, ankle pain, also due to an accident. I’ve long had tight IT bands and tightness in the hips.

The therapy has helped on all fronts. The exercises have been very useful and I’ve seen a lot of improvement in my time here. I know what to do to help get back in alignment if things get out of place again.”

“Much more flexibly finally – relief!!!!”

“Beginning: Bilateral sciatic pain when changing position, especially involved with any bending. Pain level 8-10/10 at worst. Sleep interrupted when turning. Gardening had to stop and rest often and take ibuprofen. All Activities were limited due to pain. Had to lean on the grocery cart. Could not walk or stand for any period of time.

Now: No limitations. Have to really think when I last had a twinge. Much more flexible finally – relief!!!”

“I started about eight weeks ago with a lot of pain, not able to get in and out of bed easily. Not able to go for walks outside for very long (15-20 minutes). Now I can get in and out of bed with ease. I can walk for 45 minutes. I will keep pushing myself to do better and keep making progress. Shawn is wonderful, kind and patient!”

“When I came into Shawn’s office I had consistent back pain and was restricted in my activities. I came in a few months after back surgery and was fearful I would never be able to get back to my normal every day life and active lifestyle. Shawn and Greg were helpful, encouraging, and walked me through each step of the healing process. After completing 2 months of PT I am feeling like myself again. Before PT I was restricted by back pain and couldn’t run, walk up stairs without pain, or comfortably tie my shoes. “Couldn’t be happier at age 68.”

“When I came in to see Shawn, I had had sciatica pain down my right leg for 3 or 4 years and have been diagnosed with a narrowing in the spinal canal at L4-5. Shots in my spine was going to be the 1st option with possible surgery if that didn’t work. After 4 weeks working with Shawn, the sciatic pain was mostly gone and after 6 weeks it was completely gone. Much better than my other 2 options. Couldn’t be happier at age 68. Especially after listening to others complain about the same issues.”

“I would highly recommend PDX Bodyworks to anyone who is experiencing musculoskeletal pain. Both Shawn and Greg are true professionals yet their approach is friendly and individualized; I feel like I’ve known them for years. It’s this personal quality that makes working with them so easy. I had been having pain in my knees/legs for about 6 months. I saw numerous physicians, had x-rays, MRIs, and three different kinds of medicines injected in my knee joints. Nothing seemed to work. I was unable to bend my knees without severe pain. I couldn’t walk or garden, my favorite things, and had such sharp pains in my legs at night that I got very little sleep. A neighbor recommended physical therapy with PDX Bodyworks. During the first 30 minutes of Shawn’s initial assessment, I learned that it wasn’t my knees per se, but a problem with the alignment of my spine and pelvis that affected my knees. I attended about 15 sessions and was given progressive exercises to address the problem. At each session, the anatomy and physiology of the related bones and muscles was explained in as much detail as I requested. Now, I am taking three-five mile walks, gardening again, and moving around in general “pain free”. I have daily exercises that I will do for life. That’s on me, but I never would have arrived at this point without the guidance of Shawn and Greg. I truly am grateful.”

Though I would not consider myself an athlete, I am an active person and being able to get around is very important to me. “I’ve been a runner for 20+ years and have not had any significant issues with me knees. Out of the blue I developed a strained knee issue. Super crazy pain in my right knee. Within one week, I couldn’t run at all because it hurt so badly. The pain was waking me at night. And I was preparing for Hood to Coast ☹. My orthopedic surgeon diagnosed this as Runner’s Knee/IT Band issue and recommended PT. He felt I’d be able to run again in 2-4 weeks. I had my first visit with Shawn and he gave me some exercises to align my hips and strengthen as well. Within a few days, I ran 3 miles without pain. I had 2 follow up visits with Greg, wherein he made sure I was staying “even” in my hips/legs, and gave me additional exercises to do daily. Within 4 weeks, I’m now up to almost 9 miles on a long run, and 25 miles per week – without pain! I was a true skeptic, and even after my first visit I was convinced I still had a more significant issue and it would require surgery. I feel like the PT with PDX Bodyworks has been a miracle for me! I so highly appreciate working with Shawn and Greg because they are athletes and fully appreciated my situation and commitment to run!”
